1. Why is sitting on a saddle chair healthier?
On a saddle chair you sit differently. You're sitting higher and instead of having a 90-degree angle between the pelvis and thigh, you are sitting with a 130-degree angle. The same applies to the knees. Due to the wider angle, the blood flows freely and prevents circulatory problems in your legs. Due to the special saddle shape of the seat, your pelvis is inclined slightly forward. This effects your posture: Your spine straightens up and you are sitting upright, aware of your posture but still relaxed. Your shoulders relax as well, your lungs will have more room to breathe, so your body will take in more oxygen, which leads to less head-ache and a general better well-being.
The "swing" version allows the seat to slightly tilt in all directions. Your back muscles must constantly compensate these slight variations and will become stronger.
2. Why do i need to sit higher? Do I need another desk?
To achieve the above-described important 130-degree angle, you need to sit a little higher than usual. Therefore, you need a workplace about 20cm higher (depending on body size) than an average desk. Ideally this would be an stepless adjustable desk, which can be found in our shop.
3. What models are available with the back stretcher?
All models except the "Swing(Fit)" version. These models are for safety reasons not suitable to have the back stretcher installed (seat tilts slightly in all directions) .
4. Which castors are there? Can I order braked castors?
First of all, there are soft wheels for hard floors and hard wheels for soft floors (e.g. carpet). Both versions are available with brakes, either braking when weight is applied or braking when no weight is applied. Salli offers a very wide range of special roles - from industry to ESD roles. They can be found in our online shop.
5. How large should the base be?
If you just want the basic Salli chair, the small base is sufficient. However, if you want to attach an accessory (e.g. the back stretcher or the all-round support), you need the large base, so you do not tip over. Strategically, it is a good idea to order a large base, so you can always reorder accessories without changing the base.
6. Which cylinder size do I need?
At a height of 1.60m or below the small cylinder, from 1.60m to 1.80m and the middle sized and starting at 1.70m, you can use the big cylinder. So between 1.70m and 1.80m, your preference and the "application area" is crucial.
For the "Swing"-version, deduct 5cm of all dimensions, because of the resonating rubber disc under the seat that adds to the height.
7. What is the advantage of the "swing"?
The Swing and the SwingFit are equipped with a rocking mechanism, a large rubber disc under the seat. This tilts gently in all directions, and these variations must be constantly compensated by the lower back muscles. You will train your back all day while sitting in your office.
